Core Selective Switch Using Low Inter-Core Crosstalk and Low Multipath Interference 19-Core Fiber

We show that thanks to employing a 19-core fiber (CF) designed for short-length applications, a 1×8 19-CF core selective switch prototype that we developed exhibits low total inter-core crosstalk of less than -38 dB, no ripple in the insertion loss vs. wavelength curve, and no OSNR penalty in BER performance.
