Photo-bleaching Assisted Radiation-hardened Raman Distributed Temperature Sensor

We investigated the effect of photo-bleaching on radiation-hard properties of a Raman scattering based optical fiber distributed temperature sensor (DTS). The radiation-induced attenuation (RIA) and the wavelength dependency of the RIA were found to be significantly reduced by the photo-bleaching method, resulting in significant improvement in the radiation-induced signal distortion of the DTS.
