Development of Input Circuits for the Converter of DC Charging Stations Electric Power

The growing popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) in the Russian Federation has highlighted the urgent need for adaptable and efficient charging infrastructure, particularly in areas where the installation of stationary charging stations is challenging. This study addresses this issue by proposing a mobile charging unit with an integrated energy storage system, capable of charging from both three-phase industrial AC networks and urban electric transport DC systems. The aim of this research is to develop a modular mobile charging station (MCS) that can meet diverse customer needs in terms of battery capacity, size, functionality, and budget, while also contributing to the stabilization of local power grids through demand-side management. The research methodology includes the design and simulation of a three-phase two-level active rectifier for efficient battery charging, with performance validated through MATLAB simulations. The results demonstrate that the proposed MCS enables parallel charging of electric vehicles through dynamic power sharing, ensuring efficient energy distribution. The prototype is currently undergoing pilot testing, confirming the feasibility of the proposed solutions for high-tech production of mobile chargers for high-power EVs. This study contributes to the advancement of EV charging infrastructure by offering a flexible and scalable solution for both urban and remote areas.
