Innovation Method in Enhancing the Internal Surface of a Heat Exchange Tube

The paper proposes a deformation cutting technology for the internal surface enhancement in the heat exchange tubes. Deformation cutting technique combines the edge-cutting machining with simultaneous deformation to produce macroreliefs of different shapes without separating metal from the base. The paper substantiates feasibility and prospectivity of using the deformation cutting technique as an alternative to the existing methods. The technique is approved for the micro- and macro-relief production inside the heat exchange tubes. The paper presents photos of the finned and pin-fin surfaces, as well as of the helical heat exchange intensifiers. It describes, where the obtained surfaces could be introduced to intensify the convective and condensation heat exchange and bubble boiling.
