Analysis and Calculation of Steel Corrosion by Metallic and Oxide Melt

In this paper presented the methodologies for calculating corrosion interaction between molten corium and vessel steel. Estimated calculations of steel corrosion by oxidized corium are considered. The analysis of the existing description model of steel corrosion by suboxidized corium, development of a new model and comparison with the previous one carried out also. This paper shows that the new model has a physical justification and shows better agreement with METCOR experiments. The results of estimation calculations with the help of two models of description of steel corrosion by suboxides melt presented and compared. According to the results, a new model can be used in severe accident calculations.
