UHF and VHF-Band Parabolic Reflector Antenna Feed Design

This paper presents a multi-band feed design for a parabolic reflector antenna, which allows to combine simultaneous meter and decimeter wavelength bands operation in one feed design. The electrodynamic modeling of the proposed feed has been carried out and its performance has been optimized. A prototype has been constructed and its characteristics have been measured, including within the context of a 12-meter-diameter reflector. A comparative analysis has been performed between the computed and experimental antenna characteristics in order to verify the accuracy of the optimization approach for the feed.
