Simulation of a Power Inverter with a Grid-Support Mechanism at the Point of Common Connection

This paper is devoted to the development of a power inverter with a voltage grid-support mechanism simulation and physical models at the point of common connection to the grid under external disturbances. When developing the model, the main technological features and technical limitations of power used in solar and wind power plants were taken into account. The parameters of the PQ-diagram, L VRT- and $Q$($V$)-characteristics are selected. Considering these limitations increased the accuracy and reliability of the study results on the influence of the voltage grid-support mechanism on electric power regime parameters. A simulation test model and physical model of the power system have been developed. The influence of the developed mechanism on the parameters of the electric power regime, as well as on the reliability of parallel operation of power inverters with an electric power system during external disturbances in the grid has been studied.
