The development of a microcontroller-based simple pulse oximeter

As an important indicator of health data detection, blood oxygen saturation is one of the bases for medical personnel to monitor and protect against diseases. However, the oximeter on the market generally has the defects of high power consumption, low precision and low portability. This paper studies the development method of a portable oximeter based on stm32 microcontroller. STM32 microcontroller is the main control chip, and MAX30102 blood oxygen sensor chip is used as data acquisition. The STM32 microcontroller controls the MAX30102 sensor and OLED display circuit through software programming to monitor the human blood oxygen concentration in real-time. In order to improve its portability and simplify the blood oxygen algorithm, the prototype made by this method was compared with the functions of watch oximeters in the market through comparative analysis, and relatively accurate results were obtained, with an average error of about 1%, which made the prototype have good reference value, and put forward some directions for future research.
