High-Efficiency Boost Converter Design for PV Systems Using P&O MPPT

The use of renewable energy has become popular due to the effect's fossil fuels have on the environment and their scarcity. Temperature, voltage across the array's terminals, and radiation all affect the output power of solar photovoltaic systems. This work proposes an enhance fixed step-size Perturb & Observe (P&O) Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT). This widely used MPPT approach record the change in electrical energy by perturbing the operating point of the PV array. Tracking a photovoltaic module's excellent power point can increase solar energy conversion efficiency. This study uses a DC-DC Boost converter to simulate and produce an 859 W solar photo-voltaic array connected with an external resistive load P&O MPPT approach. Result provides the 99.9% power efficiency; therefore, overall system efficiency is more significant and indicating good performance.
