Secure E-Voting with Open Source Blockchain: Enhancing AES and RSA Encryption with Face Authentication Technology

Electronic voting systems are increasingly adopted to enhance the efficiency and security of elections. However, concerns over voter authentication, data integrity, and vote confidentiality remain critical. In order to guarantee a transparent and impenetrable voting process, this article proposes a secure electronic voting system that uses open-source blockchain technology combined with AES and RSA encryption and facial verification. Information about voters, candidates, and administrator is secured in a MySQL database. To ensure anonymity and integrity, voter's data is twice encrypted and hashed. The technology cryptographically connects each voter's data with a chain of hashed values stored in MySQL database under voter's information table. Furthermore, voter identity verification prior to voting is guaranteed by face authentication technology, which is built using OpenCV and the Haar Cascade method. This proposed system eliminates the risks of multiple voting, vote tampering, and unauthorized access, making elections cost-efficient, secure, and transparent. After the election ends, the final vote count is computed fast and shared with public.
