Low-illumination color image enhancement algorithm based on HSV space

Aiming at the problems of unclear details and low contrast in low illumination color images, this paper proposes a low illumination color image enhancement algorithm based on HSV space. Firstly, the low-light color image is converted into HSV space to obtain brightness, saturation and hue image. Then, power transformation is used to adjust the brightness image, and three groups of images with different brightness are obtained. Then, principal component analysis is used to obtain the fusion weights of images with different brightness, and fusion processing is carried out to obtain the fusion image. In order to highlight the details of the image, the edge weights of the image are obtained by means of bilateral filtering, etc., and the brightness enhanced image is obtained by exponential calculation with the fused image. Finally, the color enhanced image is obtained by HSV inversion. The experimental results show that the enhancement algorithm proposed in this paper can not only improve the brightness of low illumination image, but also highlight the details of the image, and obtain a good visual effect.
