Ultra Wide-band Polyphase Channelized Spectrum Sensing System Design Based on RFSoC

This paper proposes a channelized spectrum sensing system design and implementation based on AMD RFSoC¹, enabling a 5-Gsps, full-band acquisition at a quantization of 16 bits through dual-channel RF-ADC. To address the issue of post-processing and transmission difficulties caused by time domain aliasing in wide-band signals, a 16-channel, 20-tap polyphase channelizer is implemented, with a fixed-point parallel FFT module included. The channelized samples are subsequently packaged and transmitted to the backend server via QSFP28 optical modules and a PCIE acquisition card. The frontend implemented on RFSoC utilizes 13% of the LUTs, 37% of the DSP48s and 33% of the BRAMs available on the device, and achieves timing closure at 500MHz. Evaluation test presented shows the capability of the channelized spectrum sensing system towards the complex electromagnetic environment.
