A Low Sidelobe Slot Antenna Array with Simplified Structure for Millimeter Wave Application

A high gain, high efficiency and low sidelobe slot antenna array with simplified structure is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna array consists of a waveguide feed-network layer, a feeding slot layer, a coupling cavity layer, a dielectric layer and a radiation slot layer. By employing the specific unequal power feed-network, the simplified coupling cavity and a dielectric layer, the antenna achieves an operating frequency band covered from 90.55 GHz to 95.68 GHz, a simulated average gain of 30.1 dBi, a high efficiency more than $\mathbf{9 5 . 1 \%}$, as well as low sidelobe of $\mathbf{- 2 0 . 6 d B}$. These features make the proposed $16 \times 16$ slot antenna array candidate for millimeter-wave (mmW) application.
