A first Mixed Signal SoC for the CubeSAT-UFSAT-1 Mission CCD-Payload

This article presents the integration of the digital and the analog design parts in a System-on-Chip (SoC) that performs all the required Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) management. This CCD is embedded in an optical payload for the CubeSAT-UFSAT-1 mission. The whole SOC is designed, tested and integrated using open-source Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. The objective of the CubeSAt-UFSAT-1 CCD-payload is to capture images for the San Roque Lake’s algae-concentration-studies. Such studies are important for research groups related to the Gulich Institute (IG), among others. IG belongs both to the National University of Córdoba (UNC) and to CONAE, the Argentinian Space Agency. The CubeSat-UFSAT-1 mission is currently being developed at the IG [1].
