A Simplified Primary Side Control Strategy for Resonant Inductive Power Transfer Systems

This paper introduces an innovative primary side indirect control strategy for the Resonant Inductive Power Transfer (RIPT) system, which eliminates the need for secondary side communication and additional weight, leveraging mathematical relationships to control the primary side inverter. The proposed method ensures efficient CC-CV charging of Li-ion and LiPo batteries while simplifying the system architecture. The controller design is validated through both simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing, demonstrating robust performance in regulating battery voltage and current under varying conditions. This innovative approach offers a scalable solution for enhancing UA V autonomy and can be adapted for broader RIPT applications.
