A 23-Level Asymmetric Inverter with Fewer Switches to Lower Harmonic Distortion

The expansion of inverters to numerous layers to reduce distortion from the fundamental sinusoidal waveform gave rise to the concept of a multilayer inverter. The disadvantage of using multiple level inverters is that it necessitates the installation of additional switches, increasing the bulk and expense of the system and decreasing its dependability because of the increased component count. To solve the problem of the system being larger, more costly, less reliable, and with less distortion as compared to a symmetrical H-bridged nineteen-level inverter, a nineteen-level inverter (23-LI) with fewer switches is proposed in this research." The concept is worked out on the MATLAB platform, and the efficacy of the outcome is assessed via analysis.
