An Inspection Method for Sheet Metal Concave Features Based on Rules

Sheet metal is the basic component of the vehicle shell, and its design has become an important part of the product development process. Aiming at the problems of low efficiency and easy omission in manual inspection of concave features in 3D models, an automatic inspection method of sheet metal concave features was proposed. Firstly, the topological information is extracted based on the B-rep model of sheet metal, and the adjacency between faces is combined to classify; Then, the sheet metal sag features are identified according to the topology and feature rule information, and the compliance of the part concave feature is inspected by extracting the corresponding feature parameters and comparing with the safety threshold; Finally, the inspection system is designed based on CATIA development environment, and the effectiveness of the automatic inspection system is verified by experiments.
