Design and Performance Analysis of a Rooftop Solar-Wind Energy System for Residential Buildings

Today, we are experiencing a rise in the need for clean and renewable energy, which is why solar and wind energy systems • are included in residential buildings. This paper investigates the design and performance analysis of a rooftop solar wind energy system for residential buildings. The system proposed combines a solar panel with a wind turbine that is mounted on the roof of a building. Photovoltaic panels work only in the sun, whereas wind turbines generate from the air. The system is designed based on the building location, available roof space, and residents' energy requirements. This performance analysis involves an evaluation of energy production, efficiency, and cost efficacy. The research also compares the system to conventional grid-tied and off-grid solar systems. This report reveals that the solar-wind system has a good potential to generate more electrical energy than the traditional way, making it an economic and ecological energy resource in household buildings. Moreover, solar coupled with wind energy are suitable for both -- providing firmness and predictability to both sources. The system also has the potential to decrease a residential building's overall carbon impact, thereby enhancing global green initiatives.
