Model Predictive Control of Dual Three-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with Extended Virtual Control Set

The model predictive control employed in traditional dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors relies on a static voltage vector during a single control cycle, resulting in subpar motor performance. To address this issue, a model predictive control approach utilizing a triple synthetic virtual voltage vector is proposed. The control set can be extended by separating large vectors and medium vectors in phase, medium and small vectors in phase, and large and small vectors in opposite phase. Building on this foundation, the deadbeat principle is employed to identify the sector where the optimal virtual vector is situated, thereby decreasing the number of prediction computations from 37 to just 7. This streamlines the process of selecting the voltage vector. Ultimately, the practicality and efficiency of the proposed scheme are confirmed through experimental validation.
