Droplet Routing in the Presence of Blockages: Challenges in Digital Microfluidics Biochip

In recent years biochemical synthesis is performed by using digital microfluidic biochip. Droplet routing is a key phase of biochemical synthesis. During this phase, fluid droplets are transported across the biochip to execute various fluidic operations. This article introduces a novel broadcasting-based droplet routing protocol. The protocol's performance is evaluated by varying blockage area from 5.6% to 35.8%. Simulation results demonstrate an average improvements of 5.47 % in the latest arrival time compared to existing methods.
