Introduced in 2017, Microsoft Teams quickly became the most rapidly adopted tool in Microsoft's productivity suite history. Teams is a chat, file storage, collaboration, and live meeting tool. It organizes people and information around the concepts of teams, channels, chats, and meetings. In organizations that have rolled out and fully adopted Microsoft Teams, it has become the de facto tool for project communication, especially more ad hoc, day‐to‐day interactions. Copilot in Microsoft Teams provides a great set of tools to manage meetings, especially those focused on projects. Teams tends toward more informal, chat‐centered communication, but there are also posts in Teams channels where more formal or structured presentation is warranted. A feature introduced in the Copilot ecosystem related to Microsoft Teams is Copilot in Microsoft Teams Phone. As with any new technology, concerns about data and security with the new Copilot toolset may arise.
