Introduction to Microsoft Copilot Studio

Summary

This chapter discusses when the readers might need to extend an existing copilot or consider building a stand‐alone solution. It explores the Copilot Studio platform and how to start building readers' first copilot, taking them through the development and publishing processes. Microsoft has made getting started with Copilot Studio incredibly easy by making trial licenses available. Microsoft did a good job centralizing many of the key resources needed when building out a new copilot or developing customizations. Copilot actions are customizations that the readers develop to extend the out‐of‐the‐box capabilities of Copilot for Microsoft 365. Actions are specific tasks or operations that a copilot can perform. The chapter also presents Copilot for Microsoft 365 to provide a similar capability.
