Rotary Tiller Performance Tests Based on Different Power and Rotary Tiller Parameters

This study assessed rotary tiller performance with different power ratings and blade types under the same soil conditions. Vegetation cover, tillage depth, and soil fragmentation rates were measured before and after tillage. The results showed consistent initial conditions, but post-tillage analysis revealed significant differences. The combination of 120 hp and 195 mm blade resulted in higher vegetation cover weight, while 100 hp and 225 mm blade achieved the closest tillage depth and highest soil fragmentation rate. The findings suggest that higher horsepower does not always enhance tillage performance, highlighting the need for optimizing energy input and tillage efficiency for agricultural sustainability.
