Design and Validation of a Non-Contact Trapezoidal Angle Measurement System for Piston Ring

The trapezoidal angle of the piston ring is the key parameter to evaluate the machining quality of the piston ring, and with the progress of technology and technology, the traditional contact measurement scheme cannot meet the modern production needs. In this paper, the problems existing in the contact trapezoidal angle measurement scheme are analyzed, and a non-contact trapezoidal angle measurement scheme based on spectral confocal displacement sensor is proposed, and a new measurement system design scheme is presented from three aspects: sensor selection, combined sensor design, and clamping mechanism design. Through the error analysis and feasibility verification of the measurement system, the feasibility of the new design scheme is proved, which provides a new and effective idea for the development of a new non-contact piston ring trapezoidal angle measuring instrument.
