An Authentication Scheme Against Sybil Attacks Based on TLC in the IoV

The Internet of Vehicles environment is vulnerable to a variety of malicious attacks, among which the Sybil attack is the most lethal form of attack, because the attacker can use the Sybil node to influence the voting mechanism, resource allocation mechanism, and routing forwarding mechanism of the network. Aiming at the Sybil attack in on the Internet of Vehicles, this manuscript proposes a scheme based on a Time Limited Certification (TLC) strategy to resist the Sybil attack. TLC is an information time-limited certificate authorized by the Road Side Unit, which solves the problem of Sybil attacks launched by external attackers, and effectively resists the Sybil attack launched by internal attackers that cannot be solved in the ordinary resistance Sybil attack mechanism. Finally, through experimental calculation and analysis, this scheme can effectively reduce the incidence of Sybil attacks, and can effectively improve the message delivery rate in the case of Sybil attacks on the Internet of vehicles.
