Research and Design of Linac Tunnel Control Network Configuration by Simulations

Achieving precise and efficient alignment of the control network is crucial for maintaining stable operations for particle accelerators. This article studies the design and application of laser trackers in the linear tunnel control network for particle accelerators. For the alignment needs of Hefei Advanced Light Facility (HALF) directly, this article takes the HALF, which is in the process of civil engineering, as the research object and performs a study on the impact of the network configuration. We adopt the Monte Carlo method for optimizing the control network configuration of HALF from the perspectives of quality and efficiency. Under the specific network configuration studied in this article, the uncertainty of the control network points is 0.187 mm. The absolute accuracy of the points is $42.59~\mu $ m, which is better than $50~\mu $ m. The open-source code, data, and conclusions can be extrapolated to other particle accelerator engineering and large-volume metrology fields such as aircraft assembly and shipbuilding.
