Privacy-aware data aggregation using Functional Encryption

Privacy-preserving data aggregation has been extensively explored in the literature. However, almost all schemes utilizing homomorphic encryption to encrypt data fail to protect individual data privacy from curious querier. This paper presents a novel privacy-preserving data aggregation scheme that protects data privacy from internal and external adversaries. Our scheme utilizes functional encryption to ensure the privacy of individuals’ data. Furthermore, the querier can verify end-to-end integrity of aggregation result. The security analysis shows that our scheme achieves the claimed security and privacy goals. Experimental results further validates the efficiency and scalability of our scheme.
