Analysis on Influencing Factors of Vehicle-Road-Cloud Time Synchronization Accuracy

Based on the scenario of internet of vehicles, this paper analyzes in detail different influencing factors of vehicle-road-cloud time synchronization accuracy, such as communication mode, communication delay, time synchronization protocol, time synchronization algorithm, vehicle speed and other factors. The experiments of time synchronization based on 5G tested in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, and Yizhuang, Beijing, confirm the feasibility of time synchronization based on 5G, proving that the time synchronization based on 5G is more accurate than that based on WiFi. Thus, we also design a comprehensive timing scheme by integrating 5G with the vehicle-road-cloud scenario, which is suitable for different vehicle-road-cloud scenarios, and can meet the requirements of high reliability, low delay and deterministic communication in the vehicle-road-cloud scenario, make the network connection more reliable and have lower delay, improve the accuracy and reliability of time synchronization, and improve the management and maintenance capability of the network.
