A CMOS Instrumentation Amplifier for Photoacoustic Signal Measurement

The design of a low noise, high bandwidth, and high-speed instrumentation amplifier tuned for accurate measurement of photoacoustic signals in biomedical applications is presented. The designed amplifier's gain and bandwidth are tunable up to 54.3 dB and 166.12 kHz respectively. Besides, a gain-dependent high CMRR of up to 114.4 dB with at least 102 dB (-) and 67 dB (+) PSRR, along with only 40.88 nV/Hz input referred thermal noise and choice of 2 pF capacitive load make the amplifier immune to noisy environments. Additionally, the 2 pF capacitive load ensures a fast response of the instrumentation amplifier.
