Cooperative Wireless Network Clustering and Routing Using Ant Colony Optimization

The Cooperative Wireless Network Clustering and Routing uses Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) to enhance communication in wireless networks. Ant colony optimization (ACO) is a bio-inspired optimization technique that mimics the way ants search for the shortest distance between their food and home. CWCR is based on homogenous nodes, which simply cluster group nodes and select the cluster heads to manage intra-cluster communication. ACO: It is used to place the cluster head appropriately and to determine the routes that provide efficient data transfer between such cluster heads. Thus, it gives less energy and network cost by less hops & avoiding congested regions. The ACO algorithm further allows for dynamic clustering, which reconfigures the clusters according to the changing concentration of vehicles in the environment. It considers link quality, channel available to nodes and energy levels to decide. Moreover, CWCR performs much better than existing routing algorithms in energy efficiency, throughput and scalability. Flooding can be used in different classes of wireless networks, including sensor networks, ad-hoc networks and cognitive radio networks. CWCR has the potential to greatly improve the performance of wireless networks, and real-world feasible scenarios of its deployment exist.
