Hybrid Control Method Used for Class E Resonant Converter

In this paper, a hybrid control scheme is proposed for Class E DC-DC converter, which uses simultaneous modulation of duty cycle and frequency to achieve the expansion of the output power of Class E compared to the traditional control method of fixing the value of duty cycle and modulating the frequency alone. Through the analysis of the formula of each parameter in the Class E resonant converter, the expression of output power about duty cycle and frequency is derived. The comparison of the power range is depicted. Finally, the conclusion is proposed that the hybrid control can extend the output power range.
