Study on Damp-heat Aging Characteristics of Epoxy-Silica Material for Switchgear

As an integral component of power systems, the reliability and stability of switchgear play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of the power grid. This study aims to investigate the wet aging and thermal aging properties of epoxy-silicon oxide materials utilized in switchgear. Through a series of tests examining surface insulation properties, breakdown strength, and infrared absorption spectrum, the aging process and performance changes of epoxy-silicon oxide materials are explored. Aging parameters were selected using the Pearson correlation coefficient method. The results revealed a significant correlation between the infrared absorption peak of the ether bond and aging time, suggesting it could serve as a key parameter for assessing the aging status of epoxy materials. These findings hold substantial importance in predicting the aging behavior and remaining lifespan of insulated components within switchgear, ultimately enhancing the operational reliability of distribution systems.
