CAD Design and Development of a Lunar Surface Work Station

NASA’s mission for a future lunar colony hopes to uncover more scientific knowledge about the solar system and to prepare for colonization of Mars. The establishment of a long-term colony on the moon depends on designs that could withstand its environment and materials that could be easily repaired or replaced. Researchers on the lunar colony will need a mobile workstation that is easily accessible, lightweight, compact, and effective. To design this lunar workstation, computer-aided design and 3-D modeling software were used to develop each component, assemble parts into a final model, where stress test simulations were conducted.
