Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are expected to revolutionize many industries in the near future. There are multiple examples of AI that can generate lifelike images, make predictions, compose essays, and classify objects on images. However, while opportunities exist to leverage AI to support more robust and efficient fault tree analysis (FTA), there are a number of hurdles that make the use of AI ill-suited to replace a human performing FTA.
