Physical Layer Communications Enhances Security using Improved Long-Short Term Memory with Elliptic Curve Cryptography

In recent years, the advancements in wireless communications have significantly increased the demand for reliable and secure communication channels. Physical layer (PL) plays a vital role in the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, which is responsible for efficient and secure transmission of data. However, the rapid growth in wireless communications has various challenges and vulnerabilities, which affected the security of the physical layer. Therefore, to Overcome these drawbacks and for enhancing the security Improved Long-Short Term Memory Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ILSTM-ECC) is proposed. Primarily, the input data is collected from Zigbee-Radio Frequency Fingerprinting (RFF) dataset and preprocessing done through K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) for handling missing data and noise reduction is performed by Savitzky Golay filter. Further the relevant features are extracted using Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) by decomposing the original signal into Intrinsic Mode Function (IMF). Finally, for enhancing security in physical layer communications the ILSTM-ECC is employed. From results, proposed ILSTM-ECC model attained better outcomes compared to existing AdaBoost Classifier in terms of accuracy and precision by achieving 98.75% and 98.25% respectively.
