Research On Rebuilding the ship’s Finite Element Model from Nodal Data With Triangular Mesh Algorithm

The triangulation algorithm plays an important role in numerical model’s reconstructing. Because of the complexity of ships’ models, such as the equipment structure rules, large curvature of the model, large grid scale, and abundant calculation result data, the triangulation method was employed to address the challenges of restructuring and visualizing the numerical models of ships. Data processing and visualization of ships’ calculating results were accomplished, such as triangular mesh construction, calculation results mapping, visualization of ships’ simulation results etc. Delaunay Triangulator Algorithm description of key problems such as triangulation mesh splitting and result data matching. According to the example of the bulk carrier, this method could show the ships’ numerical results, such as pressure and temperature, it could enhance the efficiency of CAE analysis.
