Algorithm of Automatic Synthesis of Optimal Solutions for Power Systems based on the Method of Dynamic Programming

Determination of technically and economically feasible design solutions for power distribution networks remains an urgent task of the electric power industry. Existing design methods, both manual and software, do not allow to fully automate the process and do not take into account distributed energy sources. The article proposes an algorithm for the automatic synthesis of the optimal structure and parameters of the electrical network scheme. To implement the algorithm the method of dynamic programming with ‘collapsing’ of solutions was used, which allowed to significantly reduce the search space and increase the efficiency of calculations. The software implementation of the algorithm was performed in the Java programming language with visualization of the obtained solutions using the javax.swing package. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach, computational experiments were carried out on a 13-node scheme of the distribution network. Two tasks were considered: design of a new electrical network and development of the existing electrical network using the algorithm of automatic synthesis of the optimal solution for the power system on the basis of dynamic programming. Various scenarios including different network configurations and substation nominal voltage levels were analyzed in the experiments. The results showed that the proposed algorithm allows to efficiently find optimal solutions, taking into account both technical and economic aspects.
