A Single-Switch High Step-Up Converter with Zero Input Current Ripple

This article presents the design of a novel high-voltage DC/DC converter for renewable energy sources. The converter is equipped with a single switch, achieving high efficiency and zero ripples in the input current. This topology utilizes a linked inductor in conjunction with a voltage multiplier to attain a significant increase in gain. These systems are highly susceptible to current ripples from conventional converters. This study comprehensively explains operational principles, mathematical derivation, and component value. The converter's performance is assessed using PSIM software, with a power rating of 200W, an input voltage of 30V, and an output voltage of 180V, achieving an efficiency of 95%.
