Graph Computing Based Short-Circuit Current Calculation

With the development of smart grid technology, the scale and complexity of power grid are increasing, and the traditional short-circuit current calculation methods are faced with the challenge of computing efficiency and accuracy. This paper presented a calculation method of short circuit current based on graph computing technology, which can not only improve the calculation efficiency but also adapt to the dynamic change of power grid. In this paper, the main network topology and the short-circuit current fault were modeled in a graph database firstly, and elaborated on how to map the physical structure of the power grid into a graph model. Then it described the concrete steps of short-circuit current calculation for selected equipment by using the established model, including short-circuit current fault definition, fault preservation, and fault calculation. Finally, a southern provincial power grid was utilized for the case study, the short-circuit current calculation results were listed in detail to verify the feasibility and progressiveness of the proposed graph computing method.
