High-Efficiency Low-SAR Antennas for Smartphones

In this article, a metal framed mobile phone antenna with high efficiency and low SAR value has been proposed for use in the sub-6G frequency band. The proposed antenna is based on IFA and uses multiple feeding points and floor slits to make the current distribution more uniform, resulting in multiple hotspots in SAR distribution, achieving high antenna efficiency and reducing SAR values on multiple surfaces. The measured results show that the -6db bandwidth of the proposed antenna can cover 3.38-3.74GHz, and can cover the Sub-6G frequency band. The efficiency is above 50% in the Sub-6G frequency band, and the maximum SAR value can be reduced by more than 30%.
