Research on the Effective Implementation of Self-Baggage-Drop Service Systems in the Airport Terminal

A self-service baggage drop system (SBD) allows passengers to complete all boarding procedures independently. With SBD, passengers can obtain tickets and check in their luggage without the help of airline staff. This speeds up passenger flow, reduces wait times at the counter, and lowers airlines' operating costs. Research using the DeLone and McLean Information Systems Success Model (D&M IS success model) to explore airline employees' perspectives and satisfaction with SBD can offer operational guidance for airlines that have not yet implemented SBD.
