Intelligent Vehicle Positioning Method Based on UWB and GPS Fusion

This paper proposes an intelligent vehicle positioning method based on the fusion of UWB and GPS, which achieves high-precision positioning through the Kalman filter combined with the weighted filtering algorithm. Experiments were conducted on a 1:12 scale off-road vehicle model, and a football field was selected as the test site to compare the positioning errors under the single GPS mode, single UWB mode, and GPS&UWB fusion positioning mode. The results show that the fusion positioning method can reduce the drift deviation generated by the system during continuous operation and improve the navigation stability. This method provides an active exploration for the unmanned driving navigation system, and realizes point-to-point transportation positioning at the lowest cost without using radar mapping for obstacle avoidance and reconstructing transport vehicles.
