Smart Wearable and Application for Health Monitoring Purposes Utilizing Arduino Sensors

Health is a human state in which individuals can function well to express their potential within their environment. Understanding the importance of health is crucial to maintain a good health. Consistent health monitoring is essential to assess an individual’s well-being. But health monitoring processes remains as an inefficient and inconvenient process for most people. Aside from that, there are a necessity to detect falls and emergency due to the situations are commonly unnoticed and could lead to fatalities. Hence, this research aims to explore IoT solutions, such as Arduino sensors, to create a solution in form of smart bracelet and smart pocket wearable that is integrated into a mobile application to enhance the efficiency of health monitoring process and life emergency response. Various Arduino sensors could be implemented as a solution to inconvenient health monitoring, falls, and emergency. Arduino sensors are affordable which could be an effective solution for the problems arise within the user groups. The sensors and modules that are capable of measuring vital signs and supporting life emergency features has gone through unit testing process with the accuracy rate of 100%. This shows that the sensors and modules work properly and ready to be implemented into the smart wearable.
