Photovoltaic-Storage-Charging-Swapping Model of the Electric Ship in the Inland River Port Based on Multi-energy Flow Integrated System

In order to facilitate the further expansion of electric ships, the advancement of electric ship technology must develop strategies for the rational utilization of the power grid in inland river port area. A port multi-energy integrated energy system (PMIES) model focusing on electricity flow is proposed in the paper to create a photovoltaic-storage-charging-swapping port for electric ships in the port area. The model incorporates photovoltaic (PV) and mechanical feedback energy for ship charging and swapping. The objective function is determined based on the economy expenditure of the electricity. The energy demand is evaluated under three scenarios. Lastly, the giving example illustrates how a component of the containerized battery (CB) can act as a storage device or so called “shared charger” for port energy system, with the model’s ability to lower peak demand on the grid in the port area by smoothing out fluctuations. This results in an enhanced energy efficiency for the port area while minimizing carbon emissions.
