Segment Routing Technology Application Research for Space Network in Mega LEO Constellation

In response to the current demand for routing algorithms in LEO space networks, characterized by limited resources, high time delays, diverse types of transmitted data, and differentiated quality of service requirements under multiple constraints, this paper reviews the current status of satellite network routing research and the development trends of segment routing technology. It analyzes the technical characteristics and application challenges of LEO space networks and illustrates and summarizes application scenarios of segment routing technology in mega LEO constellations. Finally, this paper evaluates the feasibility of using segment routing technology to address the challenges of LEO space networks from three dimensions: application information-aware addressing optimization, complexity reduction, and reliability enhancement.
