Correction of Partial Discharge Measurement of 110 kV Cables Considering Attenuation

The cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) power cables are widely used in the power system, so it is necessary to accurately measure the partial discharge (PD) amount of XLPE cables. However, when PD occurs, the discharge measured by the sensor is not the actual discharge, resulting in a certain error when analyzing the real discharge situation at the defects in the cable. This paper simulates and analyzes the PD of air bubble defects in 110kV XLPE cables, analyzes the factors affecting the measured value of the discharge quantity, and derives the relationship between the apparent discharge quantity and the real discharge quantity through the analysis of the measured value and the actual value.
