Jitter Analysis and Decomposition Based on Tail-Fit Algorithm

Jitter is one of the main reasons that affect the quality of high-speed serial signal transmission. The jitter value is analyzed quickly and accurately in order to take corresponding measures to reduce jitter and improve signal quality. In this paper, the Tail-Fit algorithm is compared with the jitter decomposition based on spectral analysis, and the feasibility of Tail-Fit algorithm is verified by simulation. Compared with the jitter decomposition algorithm based on spectral analysis, TailFit algorithm has shorter operation time, lower complexity, lower requirements for input signal, and higher accuracy when deterministic jitter is much larger than random jitter.
