Fast Screening Method of Power System Operation Modes for Frequency Stability Analysis

For the insufficient number of operation modes for security and stability analysis in new type power system, this paper proposes a fast screening method of operation modes applicable to frequency stability analysis of power systems. To address the issue of the shortage of typical operation modes in the current power system, by equivalently calculating the transient response parameters of the system frequency, a single-machine equivalent system frequency transient calculation model is constructed. Based on the fast calculation of the system frequency transient by the model, the frequency security characteristic indexes of the operation modes are obtained. Based on the K-means clustering algorithm, typical operation mode clusters and a representative set of typical operation modes are obtained through clustering according to the characteristic indexes. The examples show that the proposed method can be used to quickly screen the generation of typical operation modes for frequency security and stability analysis of power systems, improving the efficiency and accuracy of mode screening.
