Sustainable Development Through AI-driven FinTech in Agriculture: A Bibliometric Analysis

This research presents a bibliometric analysis of the integration of AI-driven Financial Technology (FinTech) in agriculture, aiming to advance sustainable economic development. The study uses the Scopus database to analyze 1,747 FinTech related documents published since 2010, and investigates the intersections of FinTech and agriculture. On October 1, 2024, analysis was performed utilizing VOSviewer on key trends, challenges, and future prospects of AI, FinTech, and agricultural development. The findings reveal is that while FinTech has huge potential in transforming the agricultural sector by expanding access to finance, improving efficiency and creating innovation there has been very little research that captures how FinTech and AI work together in practice. In addition, the study also emphasizes research bias towards developed countries as opposed to developing ones where FinTech can disrupt the agriculture very much. Increased collaboration across disciplines and AI-FinTech applications are needed to achieve sustainable agricultural growth, the paper urges. This study is ultimately underscoring the potentials of AI driven FinTech solutions for rebuilding strong agricultural economies and contributing to global economic sustainability as a whole. Using bibliometric methods such as mapping coauthorship networks, co-word co-occurrence and citation facets, we gain important understanding of the Intellectual Landscaping of FinTech's role in agriculture.
