Assessing the Determinants of GCash Payment Adoption Among College Students: A Combined Approach Using Task-Technology Fit and Technology Acceptance Models

This study examines factors influencing technology adoption among college students using the Task-Technology Fit (TTF) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). It investigates how task-technology alignment and perceptions of usefulness and ease of use affect usage and performance. Structural equation modeling with data from 400 students shows that technology acceptance constructs (TAC) and technology characteristics (TEC) significantly impact TTF, with coefficients of 0.318 and 0.602, emphasizing the role of user experience in optimal alignment. Results confirm that TTF positively influences both utilization and performance, enhancing ease of use and frequency. TAM findings reveal perceived usefulness as the primary driver of behavioral intention, significantly affecting actual usage. These findings highlight that promoting perceived usefulness, task fit, and user experience is crucial for effective technology adoption, offering guidance for technology developers.
